A very warm welcome to all coaches & managers of the U6 to U11 FRFC teams,

We now have over 300 kids in these age groups which is a huge number and something we should all be very proud of. This doesn’t happen without the assistance of volunteers and we appreciate everyone volunteering their time. The team allocations are very nearly complete and all teams will be submitted to St George Football Association this weekend.

Last year I gave out training guides to all coaches in these age groups and we also had meetings to discuss game rules and other related issues. I hope everyone found them useful. We will do the same this year. If a coach and/or manager could attend the following sessions:

• U6 & U7 – Tues 8th March 5-5.30pm
• U8 & U9 – Tues 8th March 5.30-6pm
• U10 & U11 – Tues 8th March 6-6.30pm

Before I go there are some further points I would like to mention:

1. There is a coaching course on tomorrow Sat March 5th from 11am to 2pm at Peakhurst Park for U6 to U9 coaches. I highly recommend the course (and each participant receives a very handy booklet to assist with training methods) so if you can make it please register to attend via this link: https://education-ffa.sportingpulse.com/event.asp?ID=13912
2. On Tues Mar 15th the Club will be holding an internal games programme between the U6s & U7s from 5.30 to 6.30pm. The Asian Cup mascot, Nutmeg, will also be at the ground for the kids.
3. Our first coaches & managers meeting will be held on Thurs Mar 17th at the Masos from 7.30pm. A coach and/or manager from each team is required to attend to collect ref fees and hear some important information.
4. I suggest you contact all parents in your teams (lists emailed previously) to arrange training nights. You can commence training immediately, please try to train in good grass patches (not where turf has recently been laid) and stay off Lugarno’s fields please.
5. A welcome BBQ will be held in the first couple of weeks of the season (season kicks off Sat April 2nd); details will be announced shortly.

That’s about it from me. I hope to see a coach and/or manager from each team next Tuesday and if anyone needs any coaching assistance please contact me.

Jono
